Article says Georgia law allows one to break a window to free a child from a hot car but not an animal.

Isn’t this a situation in which we can say, there isn’t a law or regulation to cover every conceivable situation which comes up in life? Clearly the common sense solution is to break the window to free the animal. We have to debate whether the law allows it? And because Georgia law apparently doesn’t address this particular situation it means someone has to be arrested??? What the heck???

I live in GA and I don’t care what the law is I’d break a car window in a second if a dog was really in distress. If the owner wanted me arrested I’d make sure they knew that as soon as I bailed out I’d be on their Facebook page telling all their friends how they left Muffy to suffocate in the car. Ten bucks says I don’t go to jail. :-)

That law needs to be changed.
