Too light on the punishment. The Patriots have demonstrated a pattern of cheating over the years under Belichick. Belichick should have been sat for a year they way Sean Payton was in New Orleans. Brady should have been benched at least 8 games and the fine should have been $10 million.
This punishment is nothing to the Patriots and their owner. It will NOT deter the culture of cheating.
I agree that Belicheat should have been suspended too.
I would been happy to see a punishment of no playoffs REGARDLESS of your record. And if you were to mysteriously lose all of your games this year then the next year that your are eligible for the playoffs.
Can't say I disagree. I guess Belichick didn't learn anything after the Patriots were fined half a mil for the videotaping scandal.
IMO they can't fine the Patriots enough. A sleazy team for decades.
For a report that has to use the word ‘probable’? You need incontrovertible evidence to render a judgment like that. Why didn’t the league investigate the 4 INDY footballs that were below spec? Why does the report allege a man could deflate 12 balls in 100 seconds but a room full of refs could only check 4 Indy balls in 12 minutes? Why was Wells hired, as a so called independent investigator, when he has strong connections to the NFL? Prediction: Brady appeals and he is suspended for one game because he did not completely cooperate with the league, not because he cheated.
