Citing interviews with a retired senior intelligence official who was knowledgeable about the initial intelligence about bin Ladens presence in Abbottabad and American sources who had access to corroborating information, Hersh writes that the American government did not act alone in locating and killing Bin Laden, as it has consistently claimed.
On the contrary, Hershs sources say that senior generals of Pakistans army and Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI)Pakistans equivalent of the CIAknew as early as 2006 that Bin Laden was in Abbottabad, and cooperated with the U.S. in the assassination. Specifically, the story says that top Pakistani Army Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha, director general of the ISI, knew Bin Ladens location and knew about the Abbottabad raid before it took place.
Among the reports most explosive claims is that the U.S. did not find Bin Laden by tracking his couriers, as the government and most official accounts have reported. Instead, according to the Hersh report, the U.S. paid a $25 million reward to an unnamed former senior Pakistani intelligence officer who betrayed the secret of Bin Ladens whereabouts. Hershs report says that this officer was relocated to Washington, D.C. and now works as a consultant for the CIA.
The story also claims that Bin Ladens burial at sea never happened, that Bin Laden was an invalid when the SEALs raided the compound and killed him, and that there was no firefight at all during the SEAL raid. Additionally, Hershs account says that the ISI captured and set bin Laden up in Abbottabad in the first place, to use him as leverage in the countrys dealings with al-Qaida and the Taliban.

“Son... I say, Son. Expectin’ the media to react to an Obama story leaves you lookin’ a few treads short of a tire.”
(There is no way this is explosive to them. There is no way this is meant to offend you.)
This should cause chaos in Pokeestan.
Thanks Seymour for disclosing the names of the Pakistani generals.
I have no doubt the admin lied about some of the particulars; but, I have a hard time believing the last statement of "no firefight" during the seal raid. The seals involved have come out with details and they are not necessarily Obama fans, so I don't think they would lie for his admin....
Journalists and others get their rocks off when it is revealed that those in power "lied" about war, even if the President is a Democrat. It would take the fun out of it to concede that the information had to be "sanitized" necessarily and appropriately.
Does he actually HAVE any progeny; daughters or otherwise?
Among the explosive claims that Hersh makes in the piece:
The Pakistanis had been essentially holding bin Laden captive at the Abbottabad compound for years.
The CIA learned of bin Laden's location from a Pakistani intelligence official who tipped off American operatives hoping to claim the $25million bounty on the terror leader - not from interrogation of an al-Qaeda courier.
Top American officials negotiated with Pakistani officials to let them carry out the operation to kill bin Laden on Pakistani soil.
There was no vaccination program used to college the DNA from bin Laden's compound - it was all made up as part of an elaborate cover-story after the fact.
The Pakistani intelligence service, ISI, cut power to the neighborhood where bin Laden was hiding on the day of the raid and made sure no Pakistani forces would not interfere with the American choppers flying into sovereign airspace.
There was no firefight during the SEAL raid - the only shots fired were those that killed bin Laden, whom Hersh described as a feeble, unarmed man.
Bin Laden was cut off from al-Qaeda at the time of his killing and was not running the terrorist group
There was almost no useful intelligence information found his compound.
After he was killed, bin Laden was not buried at sea, but instead buried in Afghanistan.
Obama publicly announced the commando raid and claimed public credit for it, despite agreeing with the Pakistanis to keep the action secret for seven days and eventually say bin Laden had been killed in a drone strike.
Obama's announcement badly alienated Pakistani leaders and all but obliterated the military and intelligence ties between the two nations.
A supposed fabrication he singles out is that Pakistani military officials actually knew about the operation, even though the White House maintains it was purely an American affair.
Hersh does not have much credibility himself.
I believe the Seal on Hannity's program because he had no reason to lie...
Bingo! It galls my heart to have to say it but this would be the right thing to do. Protecting allies in the Paki government and military.
Don't get me wrong; I have no doubt this administration lied, staged or covered up a lot of things in the last 6 yrs. I just do not see our military participating in any of it.
SOP for this administration. Evil and lies go hand in hand.
Most people refuse to listen to anything bad about Obama. They watch reality tv.
I guess this is why the courier sits in prison. He had nothing to do with capturing bin laden.
They released nothing, not one single solitary shred of evidence that he is dead. We’ve seen photos of Saddam Husseins body, even a video of him being hanged. We’ve seen photos of his sons bodies, even seen a video of Ghaddafi getting killed, photos of dead terrorist commanders, all expect the most hated terrorist in history. Gee why is that? And just why were they in such a rush to bury him at sea? It’s all BS. I would not trust this administration as far as I can throw them. I read Matt Bissonnettes book “No easy day” He said the guy he shot looked nothing like Bin-Laden. It was all a scam to help reelect the worst President in US history.
The dead giveaway is the ISI cutting the power to the neighborhood the night of the raid. So most/all of the movie ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ is now a lie?
The former Navy SEAL who says he killed Osama bin Laden is slamming a new report that challenges the White Houses account of the mission.
The story that I read, the part from {Seymour} Hersh, was full of lies, Rob ONeill said on Fox News' "Shepard Smith Reporting."
It took me a long time to read it because I had to put it down I couldnt read the nonsense.
ONeill specifically criticized Hershs assertion that Pakistani officials were part of the mission to kill the al Qaeda leader and that there was no resistance.
"Well Im sure that my friends who got shot at and almost took a few bullets to the face through the doors would disagree with them there and be insulted," O'Neill said.
I saw Osama bin Laden standing on two feet, there was no ISI up there. I shot him in the head twice and then I shot him again in the face while he was on the ground.
