I support the mom too. She was doing her best to stave off the blood sugar drop and knew a simple hot meal would work(and it did when it finally came). Reread the article and you will see that it was a male 1st class attendant that was working against her.
BTW the scratching the mom talked was about is what a frustrated autistic child will do to herself. Have we become so heartless that we stand back and judge and ridicule a mom having a difficult time with a disabled child?
I don't believe food temperature affects its ability to raise or lower blood sugar one way or the other.
They had no business traveling. Mother should have bought the girl a hot meal at the airport prior to boarding and if she was too stupid to feed her before a flight, she should have stayed home.
She blackmailed the airline into providing something, but stating her child would get violent.
The Captain is ‘”Master of the aircraft” and has final authority AND responsibility to all passengers on the plane.
Once informed of a threatening violent passenger, he made the call. He has sole authority to do this. The minute mom made a threat of violence, he really had no choice.
