You are welcome-I don’t think some of the people here know how different life in the country is in areas where there are off-grid, gone Galt people living-whether they are old hippies, preppers or those who embrace a primitive lifestyle for various other reasons. You leave people alone and they will leave you alone unless someone needs help with something.

Nearly everyone owns their own ranching, farming, cottage industry business, etc for income-especially from the tourists if you are near a highway-taking kids to work with you and teaching them to do inventory, make change and interact with customers is part of homeschooling, too...

No one thinks anything of guns being displayed in photos or in every day life, and the locked gates with no trespassing signs mean just that-if you are not invited or do not have a warrant accusing someone of a crime, stay the hell out of other people’s business and off their property.

The Amish live a pretty primitive lifestyle, they live off grid, have and use guns-and there have been many cases of child, spouse and animal abuse in those communities-and they don’t even pretend to educate their kids beyond about the 8th grade, but I don’t see CPS and jackbooted thugs running out and abducting their kids even if someone is an Amish drug dealer...

It’s interesting that you mention the Amish as today, well, yesterday at this point, I went to an auction at an Amish Farm. The scene was stereotypical... all the ladies in their bonnets and plain dresses separated from the men, all the teenaged girls working the lunch concession, and all the little boys and girls entertaining themselves in the yard, barefoot.

The kids were happy.
