A strange idea has been running through some of the commentary about Baltimore: wasnt electing Barack Obama supposed to fix this? Why are black people still so mad all the time when we elected a black president? This idea is not new, nor is it terribly hard to find. On Thursday, it popped up in a New York Times report on Hillary Clintons speech calling for an overhaul of the criminal justice system following the death of Freddie Gray. Political journalists Amy Chozick and Michael Barbaro included this analysis of how the events in Baltimore might alter Obama's presidential legacy:
For those seeking the White House, the conflagration in Baltimore exposed a complicated truth: The racial comity that the election of Barack Obama seemed to promise has not materialized, forcing them to grapple with a red-hot, deeply unresolved dynamic that strays far from their carefully crafted messages and favored themes.
I dont think any of the candidates want or expect the summer of 2015 to be like the summer of 1968, when race riots hit major American cities, said Rick Wilson, a longtime Republican political strategist who is not aligned with any campaign....

0bama’s legacy ain’t getting’ any worse. He knows it.
This post isn't about the word, it's about one person's awakening to the reality of racism. It's them. You can be nice to them all day long and they will never stop hating you because.you.are.white.
Useful idiots of the Marxist revolution.
“A long hot summer” might be a good thing...at the end, there will be at least a few less thugs terrifying and disrupting our society.
We have already spent trillions trying to make up for the sins of dead men....enough is enough.
No need to overhaul the criminal justice system. The “black community” needs to overhaul itself. Doesn’t matter what color “the man” is. Black communities lead in self-destructive pathology. They need to follow a 12 Step Program to sanity: hit the books, stay off the drugs and cool the sex till you are married. Easy, but hard. No more money. No paternalistic govt. Just do it.
The opposite is the belief held by many libs that until a "level playing field" is established, no fairness will come to minorities, especially black Americans.
The truth is there never was and never will be such a thing as a level playing field for anybody. I grew up the first ten years of my life lower middle-class i.e. poor. We lived in a basement house, and I shared a bed with my older brother.
Meanwhile the equally white Kennedy's of Massachusett and other rich white people were living luxurious lives. We didn't have nearly the perks the Kennedys and the other wealthy white people had.
But, growing up in America, we did have great opportunities to improve our situation. And all my six siblings took advantage of the opportunities afforded them and became very successful. Several of my siblings are now millionaires in total wealth.
Black Americans also have great chances to improve themselves. But many of them are quite unwilling to take advantage of the great opportunities afforded them.
Who is to blame for that inability fifty years after the sixties Civil Rights bill that established affirmative discrimination uh....action and other extra-legal benefits for blacks? White people? Nothing will satisfy the race industry crowd.
Yep.
Not trying to be stupid, but honestly I do not understand there hatred for us. I know all the he said she said stuff but my door gunner was black and I trusted that man with my life and his with mine.
If white racism caused blacks to kill whites, how can the fact that blacks kill more than 90% of other blacks be explained by racism? It can't be.
Ms. Reeve had herself been a fact-checker and reporter at TNR and she vouched for Beauchamp's credibility.
Accordingly, we're dealing with a lady who won't let facts get in the way of her agenda.
Because $22 TRILLION wasn’t enough. Should have been at least $100 TRILLION...or more.
Or sumpin' like dat...
The author can't do basic math. The 15th amendment was ratified in 1870, which was not 15 years after 1865.
