They want to punish a guy who was “.....generally aware of the inappropriate activities...”?
Gee. How damning. The NFL can GFT. And I’m no fan of Brady or the Patriots.
This seems a little stupid. They all played with the same ball even if it did have slightly less air. If it was very deflated, others would have noticed by now. I’m not saying it is right, but neither is it that big of a deal.
NBC begs to differ, I'm sure! :)
He definitely doesn’t care about the money, his wife makes way more than him.
And there’s no reputation hit on this. Only the usual crowd of idiots who already hated him think this issue matters in the slightest.
No they didn’t. Each team plays with their own balls.
Ha!
Re: NBC...when an entity is itself immoral & unethical, why would a little extra tossaway $ matter?
Oh they’ll be fired. For the * Tom texts. The rule is stupid, the kerfuffle is stupider and the people who think it matters are stupidest.
The only problem here is some people get their panties in a twist every time the Pats come up. We know for a fact that other teams violate this rule. They’ve been caught on camera doing it and got nothing more than a stern letter.
That’s a very good reason to be against any kind of penalty. If KO is for it, it must be stupid. Besides, letting the Pats off the hook would make KO even more batshit crazy. That can only be a good thing.
probably the reason they are going to put lyin’ Brian back on the air...
My wife said that this morning... exactly.
For myself, I wonder if the release of this report, and the way it is being played up, is linked in any way to Brady's declining Obama's invitation to geek for him at the White House.
Oh...sure... all those impressionable kids...the very youngest fans of the NFL...or even those who aren't technically "fans" but still read headlines ... won't even put a dent in their "size up" of Brady, eh?
What illusionary world do you live in again?
The rule is riculous. Why shouldn’t every team be able to play with balls inflated to their own preference?
Yes, but it’s not Goodell coming up with the penalty. He’s already punted it to another guy (forget his name) and his disciplinary committee to avoid another Ray Rice FUBAR.
They’ll come down hard, so that when the Players Union appeals they can have the suspension reduced to a reasonable amount and save face.
Creative editing on your part. Don’t forget the next sentence. Everybody who thinks this matter ALREADY HATED HIM.
And as “impressionable kids” I’ll go with the Barkley on that, if your kids are learning moral lessons from athletes on TV the failure is YOU not the athlete.
Meh.
I have a higher standard than “more probably than not”.
They proved nothing, none of this has any meaning to me at all, and I am not even a Patriots fan, even though I do think they are a talented team.
