ISIS focusing on three states where citizens wont shoot back
ISIS reportedly released a list of five states its ready to attack, three of which have some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation.
The states, which were named in a message signed by Abu Ibrahim Al Ameriki and shared on Twitter, included California, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan and Virginia.
Four out of the five states listed have passing grades from groups that support MORE gun control and disarming the populace, an AR-15.com forum member pointed out.
Sure enough, on the latest state scorecard from the anti-gun Brady Campaign, Virginia is the only state out of the five that isnt really moving toward stricter gun laws.
And according to a state ranking from Guns & Ammo which lists the best state for gun owners at #1 and the strictest gun control state at #50, California, Maryland and Illinois are ranked #46, #44 and #41 respectively.
The other two states, Michigan and Virginia, are ranked around the middle of the pack at #28 and #21.
Additionally, California and Maryland are among the hardest states for citizens to receive concealed carry permits.
There are only a few conditions under which Maryland may grant you a permit, an Opencarry forum member revealed. 1) Documented threats against your life or previous documented attacks, 2) Transportation of large sums of cash with bank deposit slips as proof and 3) Carrying of medicine and prescription pads (medical doctors.)
In other words you will not get a permit to carry in Maryland unless one of the three conditions above is met and if it is granted, it will be restricted to the activity used as the basis for the approval.
And it isnt much easier for California residents to receive a permit.
So put yourself in a militants shoes: would you rather attack an area where only the police have guns, or an area where citizens will shoot back?
“And why isn’t New Jersey on that list?”
Nobody wants to go there.
I live in N.J. And while I agree that a lot of the state is a shiite hole you would like it where we live in Warren County. We may not be able to legally carry here but I would not recommend trying to screw with us. We are actually able to defend ourselves.
Look us up on the earth image maps and you may change your mind about Warren & Sussex counties.
I’ve been told that once you get away from the city NJ really is a garden state.
People in small towns notice A LOT more. A strange car parked for hours or a strange person walking around.
A unknown middle easterner walking around would not go unnoticed like in a large city.
The list was made before Texas and the list was made with the assumption the attack had been somewhat successful.
With that in mind, look at the list again and how it fits with the gun control crowd.
You make a good point there.
It almost amazes me that the lady in the picture wasn’t arrested and a made an example of by the left-wing district attorney but he/she is probably black and so is this woman so there would be no “getting back at Why T.”
Still, Detroit has been learning a very interesting set of lessons these past few decades. I hope their scholarship succeeds!
As for places such as New York and New Jersey—and sorry Illinois (because of Chicago voters), Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maryland in the east, and California, Oregon and Washington to the west (I know, Washingtonians, it is Seattle’s fault), those places have trained their citizenry that guns are evil and only should be in the hands of the government and the rednecks with all their guns out in the country are crazy and not good people like them.
I’m not wishing it, but it would be interesting to see how they’d twist such deadly attacks and probably double-down on gun control.
Got my Illinois conceal carry a couple of months after it became legal. Baby Glock, 9mm. Need more range time. Very impressed with the pistol work of the Garland traffic cop.
Wayne county prosecutor Kym Worthy is black but seems fairly solid. She did charge the Steve Utash attackers with hate crimes and hasn’t shown a tendency to charge white defensive shooters any more than black.
They should. It is low hanging fruit. And I think that was where most of the male metrosexual comments condemning Pam Geller for what she did came from. And last but not least, if you prefer slavery and security over responsibility and freedom....
What a stupid article. Notice how the tite suggests, but the author does not claim, that ISIS is targeting states BECAUSE they have strict gun control? An equally, if not more likely explanation is that these states have large Muslim populations that provide cover for ISIS. |
I don’t understand why Illinois is 46. We can own standard capacity AK rifles, AR rifles, pretty much whatever we want as long as one doesn’t reside in Crook Cty. We have a “shall issue” system for concealed carry and there are remarkably few “No Guns” signs to be found.
Jihadi Joe will be in for a rude shock in IL I think.
Despite the “consensus” opinions, Dearborn is only about 40% arab and those are mostly Christian. Also its not a really large city (Just under 100,000)
That said, the muslims that are there are the most closely watched in the nation. Unfortunately there are a lot more elsewhere who aren’t watched.
Me too. I’m sitting in a Starbucks in Waukegan right now with a legally concealed .45 ACP on my hip. I hate their coffee but I’m meeting a customer. LOL
Oh Yeah!
LOL...even terrorists won’t go to Joisey!
Michigan
Is the move against open carry why writer (or Brady Campaign) says Michigan moving toward more gun control?
If not, what?
We actually have fishing & hunting in our county. We even have areas where we can shoot & not be bothered. But we are not immune. There are a lot of farms that are protected farmland (agenda 21?) and a lot of farms have disappeared. We are not attracting new businesses and the remaining ones are generally struggling to survive while just across the Delaware in Pa. new businesses pop up every week. And the taxes kill us. But we still love it here.
You can’t conquer a state.
Why doesn’t everyone here understand that terrorists don’t even think about gun-control? It’s not on their radar.
You are looking at it the wrong way.
Most attacks have taken place in NYC, not because of gun-control, but because that is where the most damage can be done and for symbolism.
Same thing with New York City and New York State.
