And people here on FR were lamblasting me for not voting Republican in November saying things like "Harry Reid thanks you for your vote" and making that stupid lesser of two evils argument, yet here we are with someone (McConnel, Republican incumbent, establishment insider) who REALLY couldn't be as bad as a newbie Democrat and... where were their rallying cries over the lesser of two evils?

Not me. When the Senate won big, I knew it would be a rubber stamp for Obama’s policies. Since November, 100% of his policies have been supported by McConnell.
