A top commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) told a state-run media outlet on Wednesday that Iran is prepared to go to war with the United States and will even welcome war to show off Tehrans power.
We have prepared ourselves for the most dangerous scenarios and this is no big deal and is simple to digest for us, said IRGC Lieutenant Commander General Hossein Salami. We welcome war with the US as we do believe that it will be the scene for our success to display the real potentials of our power, he added.
Salamis remarks come as U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry recently insisted that military action is still on the table for the Obama White House.

What happens when the ayatollahs die from old age?
Much of the Iranian public aren’t idiots. It’s just the Iranian government that is the problem.
Just like the American government.
Are you proposing that a strategic defeat of the U.S. would result in Sunni Moslem "piling on" and de-Persianizing Persia?
After all, the biggest oil-producing fields in Iran are concentrated in Arabistan, a majority-Arab region of southwestern Iran adjacent to the Shatt al-Arab; and that both were objects of Saddam Hussein's cupidity when he started the Iran-Iraq War.
Keep in mind, too, that Obama has been destroying U.S. nuclear weapons at a helluva clip, down below levels that would have made Ronnie's brow furrow deeply with concern.
Moreover, he has been doing this on a non-reciprocal basis, not waiting for the Russians to match us before proceeding, and not taking into account the considerable adds the Chinese have made to their independent nuclear stocks in the last 10 years or so since they got key MIRVing and enhanced-radiation warhead technology (the W-88 warhead) from Bill Clinton.
Long story short, we are in a lot worse position strategically than we were on 9/11. This is what Salami Boy is daydreaming about.
A primordial fear of the Iranians is if the tides of war result in the Sunni jihadists ( ISIS or some derivative) take Baghdad, establish a hostile Sunni state on their border and millions of destitute Arabic speaking Shi’ite refugees pour into Iran. Iran as they say in the current vernacular, would be “transformed” and unstable. Hopefully the scenario in the Persian Gulf never happens.
don’t do those in reverse order. EEEEEEWWWWWWWwwwww.
