I agree. Does anyone know who decided in US Dems were Blue and Repubs were Red on charts?
As I recall, it is from the 2000 election. It was traditional for the incumbent party to be in blue and the challenging party to be in red. Gore and the Dems were the incumbent party, so they were blue. Bush and the Republicans were the out of power party, so they were red. It has stuck since then. But red is the more appropriate color for the Dems.
