The problem is that Goodell set the precedent with the Saints and banished Peyton for a year, saying that ignorance is no excuse.
So, if that’s the case, then it’s only fair that Belichick face the same punishment as Peyton, to be consistent.

Belichik is a brilliant football mind. He’s a detail oriented control freak who has hired his long time friend to essentially analyze every potential outcome of every potential “What if” both on and off the field. Google Ernie Adams if you don’t know who he is.
There is no way - NONE - that Belichik didn’t know what was going on. For him to say he didn’t know you could release air from a ball is preposterous. He has made comments in the past when he was with the Giants regarding all the ways they used to Doctor the ball - now all of a sudden he’s never heard of these techniques??
