Being unmarried, I cleaned my house when I had one (it burnt down)cooked for myself and wash my own clothes and even when I am shacking up (shame on me) I never expected them to do these things for me. It was nice when they occasionally did, I’ll admit. I remember it was nice to come home from the mill and chores were done. But marriage is simply not worth the financial risk in my opinion.

Obviously today many men and women agree with you. .....but it sounds like you see marriage more as a financial investment/risk.
