I thought this was a conservative site. So many conversations about inner city black families with no father present and how it is affecting our country. And yet most people here are saying how horrible marriage is!
Just a tip to those that just can't seem to find “the one”— stop looking! When you least expect it love comes to you. And don't settle— anything that seems like a little problem or disagreement usually gets bigger over time. I have a friend from college who just can't understand why she can't find anyone— but she only looks in bars with guys looking for one night stands! I met my husband at work. I was his boss! It was a long process from meeting to marriage. I didn't do things just because I thought it would please him at the time. We got to know each other honestly. People like this are out there!
It IS a conservative site, and if we knew any men that actually fit your hypothetical description, we'd agree with you.
“Every party is hurt in a divorce, whether you want to believe it or not.”
Understand - it’s not that I hear women running around telling everyone what a ‘wonderful’ experience it is getting divorced - it’s just how single guys hear it from the viewpoint of who ‘wins’, and all that these guys hear is that the deck is stacked against them, and that’s what they’re responding to.
Unless and until that changes, marriage will continue to die off...and that is simply bad for society and weakens this country (even more) - as we see with our very low birthrate and the repopulation efforts going on.
