Climate scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are warning the Arctic may be ice free by the summer by 2040 due to global warming.
Scientists sounded the alarm on a Wednesday press call that comes after the north pole hit record low winter sea ice coverage in February. NOAA’s warning of an ice-free Arctic are consistent with warnings given by other researchers over the past few years.
Scientists warned that Arctic ice will melt faster as temperatures grow hotter, which they warn is harming the region’s ecology — zooplankton are losing fat content which could harm fish in the area that feed on these organisms.
Sounds alarming, but is an ice-free Arctic really something to worry about?

True. Isn't that when the Industrial Age actually started? Man invented the wheel and started burning "fossil fuels." It's been all downhill since then for Mother Earth.

VP Al Gore repeatedly told us it would by 2013... Over and over he said that is what the science has told us, and the science is settled.
So now this?
And what about the ice age scare in the 1970’s? The scientists were telling us over and over, and the media over and over, beware of the coming ice age...

Sure it will...just like Al Gore predicted the Arctic would be melted by 2012.
And I predict the Amish will put a man (or cow) on Mars before NASA does in 25 years.

I think I have more faith in the fortune teller than I do the NOAA climate scientist.
At least I have some positive control in my financial future. The climate scientist is absolutely powerless over the future of the Arctic Ocean.
