When one nut with a gun shoots up a school, he's portrayed in the media as a Right-wing gun whacko (even though their politics are more often hard-Left), and all gun owners are put on notice that their culture and beliefs are dangerous and must be eliminated.

When Muslim nuts with guns shoot up an art show, they're not portrayed in the media at all, and all Americans are put on notice that Islamic culture and beliefs are in danger and must be respected and protected... particularly from those evil Right wing nuts.
