It looks perfectly normal, but the gun and spare mags make it a
bit heavy. Places that are “gun-free zones?” I just don’t mention
that I’m armed. It’s my permit, my business, and nobody else’s.

Exactly right. Your Constituonal right trumps a "gun-free zone."
