3rd degree burns hurt like HELL.

No doubt, that's why you should be careful with coffee, but still I don't see why that's McDonalds' fault. Coffee is hot, who knew?

190 degrees is far above any reasonable temp and even the most careful people can spill(especially when the cup burns hands on contact). It only becomes drinkable below 140 anyway.

I know a few people want their coffee extra hot to save for later. They can have the server pop it in a microwave if they want it near boiling

Coffee is hot, who knew?

Coffee is typically served at about 165 degrees. The McDonald's coffee was at 190. It's the difference between second degree and third degree burns.
