Theres been a lot of debate today about the actions and intentions of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, the group led by Pamela Geller that held a Draw Mohammed cartoon contest in Texas yesterday where two shooters showed up. They were killed, and Geller has been pushing back against any suggestion that the provocative nature of her group brought about those attacks.
Chris Matthews tackled that argument on his MSNBC show tonight, bringing up what Gellers group did and asking, Does that in some way cause these eventswell, not the word causinghow about provoking, how about taunting, how about daring? How do you see the causality factor here?

Sowwy Cwissie, but it will happen again and again and again....when the precious muslimes point guns at us.
Sowwy Cwissie.
In January 17,2015, and in the same public school center, there was a Stand with the Prophet rally by Muslims, a pro-Shariah law event, by supporters Al-Qaida and Isis organized by one of the terrorists implicate in the bombing of the garage of the NY World Trade Center in 1993. I wonder if those who try to blame the organizers of the First Annual Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest, for the Muslim terrorist attack would have justified if some patriotic American had irrupted in Muslim rally on January alive, a real grievance more justified than the alleged 2015 and made a massacre of Islamic terrorists. After all, Americans are profoundly offended by the abuse of our freedoms by those who made the Muslim rally in support of the savages that decapitate, crucify and burned Christians offense provoked among the Islamic fanatics by the Mohamed cartoons.
Did it ever occur to you -- that you are provoking the wrong people?
The Left never misses an opportunity to blame the victims. Our world has turned upside down
The American political left have bullying and provocation down to an art form. Matthews can zip his trap.
Unfortunately Chrissy Matthews hasn’t provoked someone enough to blow his brains out..so far we havent been lucky in that regard
LOL ting-a-ling leg! So it’d be okay if someone was offended by what a certain group did and it’s okay to go after them? Well only if you’re in one of the protected classes. And it doesn’t include those with white privilege. Apparently it’s okay for folks on an fbi list with possible terrorist ties. Don’t know there chrisy, you’re confusing me. :>}
Face it, Chris. Face it.
Yet he would presumably be one of the first people to speak out against the idea that women in short skirts “provoke” rapists, or that beaten wives “provoked” their husbands, or that white cops are “provoked” by black suspects who run from, fight, or threaten them.
Provoking? Taunting?
Kinda like asking devout Christians to bake cakes for gay weddings, eh Chris?
So Christians should kill atheists who provoke them? So Mormons should kill the South Park guys for their Broadway show?
I wish the rats in my barn ran to cheese that fast.
Matthews uses exactly the same argument which says a rape victim “asked for it”.
Gee, it would be a real shame if that drunk Chrissie ever provoked somebody.....
OK, OK, already.
Yo Chrissie. Non-AMERICANS who are easily “provoked” really need to go back to where they came from and be with their own kind. Those Xeno’RATs are loonier than hell.
Awesome. I guess we can now start whacking Leftists who piss us off.
Not Our Fault, We Were Provoked.
Chrissy’s going to have to go back to putting crosses in urine.
Pam Geller’s group was provoked by the slaughter at Charlie Hebdo. That was sharia law at work. That was sharia law at just PART of its worst.
We will not tolerate sharia law here. But, with the next generation of Americans, not so sure.
