They hate all religions, but they choose to ally with the most violent religion on the planet.

Two reasons for this (1) The most extreme case of institutionalized Stockholm Syndrome in world history and (2) They don't want to be murdered.

I think a certain amount of it is their hatred for Israel. They see Israel (a long time ally of the imperialist, capitalist, warmongering U.S.) oppressing those poor Palestinians who are mostly Muslims. So they think Muslims are their allies.

They would find out different if Muslims ever took over the U.S. Then, just before the blade sliced into their throats, they would find out free speech isn't very popular with the Islamists. And most of the "moderate" Muslims would applaud their demises.
