Fortunately by the end of the little ice age we learned to live on crops better suited to colder climates. I'm rootin' for root vegetables. And meat. Maybe time to switch up from chickens to Angus.

Sort of like putting the humidifier and the dehumidifier in the same room.

Michigan still produces a lot of root vegetables because they’re what the northern Europeans who settled here knew how to grow in the cool wet climate.
Things like broccoli, brussels sprouts, and cabbage grow well here too.
