I think that is a little thing called “turning the other cheek”, which is ultimately a battle plan of a different sort.
I've given a lot of thought about that strategy over the years, and how it relates to how our culture has changed. For example, how would John Wayne or Gary Cooper fare in today's Hollywood, with Sean Penn and Michael Moore?
50+ years ago, the "strong silent type" was an admirable trait in a man. People respected it.
These days, "the strong silent type" will get absolutely steamrolled by aggressive Liberals, or even just a mouthy punk.
Turning the other cheek doesn't work anymore. The conservative strategy of being meek and passive has got to change.
