I think it's a stretch to claim that he was unable to get up from his position. Do you have a link showing that he was "debunked"? This was reported by WAPO as coming out of a report.

From the demonstration I saw of the van just a bit ago (CNN I think) I don’t think I could have gotten up to a kneeling position in that situation. I’m 6’0” 200 but not the most athletic person. Could somebody do it? Maybe, I don’t know, I don’t see how with hands and feet bound.
There is an interview with the other prisoner you can look up, from last night. Actually I think there is a second one now, but I haven’t seen it. He was in the van for the final few minutes of the ride.
