The six Baltimore police officers involved in the arrest of Freddie Gray who died last month after being injured in police custody have been charged criminally, State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby announced Friday.
Mosby's announcement on the steps of the War Memorial Building was greeted with cheers and applause. Mosby said she told Gray's family that "no one is above the law and I would pursue justice upon their behalf."
Desmond Taylor, 29, shouted in jubilee in front of the War Memorial Building.
Mosby: Freddie Gray's death a homicide, officers charged Investigation and medical examiner reports say Freddie Gray's death a homicide. Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby will file charges against all 6 officers involved in the arrest. (Baltimore Sun) "I did not expect this, but I prayed for it," he said. "This day means that your actions bring consequences in Baltimore City."
Word traveled quickly of the charges against the officers. In West Baltimore, cars honked their horns. A man hanging out of a truck window pumped his fists and yelled; "Justice! Justice! Justice!"
At the corner where Gray was arrested, 53-year-old Willie Rooks held his hands up in peace signs and screamed, "Justice!"
Reacting to news of the charges, President Barack Obama called it "absolutely vital that the truth come out.

this should be real interesting when they try to prove who did what.
PS:bottom line is the majority of Americans are sick of this BS along with the Homo crap.
Officer Caesar Goodson Jr., 45, who was the driver of a police van that carried Gray through the streets of Baltimore, was charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, second-degree assault, two vehicular manslaughter charges and misconduct in office.
Officer William Porter, 25, was charged with involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and misconduct in office.
Lt. Brian Rice, 41, was charged with involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and misconduct in office.
Sgt. Alicia White, 30, was charged with involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and misconduct in office.
Officer Edward Nero, 29, was charged with second-degree assault and misconduct in office.
Officer Garrett Miller, 26, was charged with second-degree assault, misconduct in office and false imprisonment.
If convicted of all charges, Goodson would face up to 63 years in prison. Rice would face up to 30 years and Porter, Nero, Miller and White would face up to 20 years.
Sheesh. Has the whole world gone illiterate?
And this from a "major" newspaper!
Yep and it will be reflected in next year’s Presidential elections.
What about justice for everyone who lost businesses, cars and other property? Any justice for them?
1) Either someone talked, i.e. one of the six officers said, "Yeah, we gave him a nickel ride and beat the crap out of him"
-or-
2) 100%S politically motivated charges.
After watching the past few days... I'm going with 2)
No mention of the officers’ race in the media, guessing they’re not white?
Just damn..............
This will bolster police recruitment efforts. /s Which is precisely what they want... no police, so they can continue looting and dealing drugs without fear of being hassled by ‘the man’.
3. The physical evidence supports a probable cause that a crime has been committed. There is some talk of a wound to Freddie Gray’s head matching up to a bolt in the van.
This seems to correspond to another report which said that Gray died from a head or neck wound, the shape of which corresponded to an exposed bolt in the van.
Reading between the lines, it sounds to me that the DA is blaming the police for failing to restrain Gray properly. This would be more a case of negligence, not "homicide!," the word the DA used to lead off her press conference.
53 yo willie “proly” cant spell justice
On can only pray
If there were any true patriots on the force, they’d be resigning about now. Telling the top to deal with it alone.
On = One ,but you knew that
“I did not expect this, but I prayed for it,” he said. “This day means that your actions bring consequences in Baltimore City.”
Did anyone sense the irony in this statement?
I noticed that too. Tacky, tacky. If there is a human editor, they don’t know the difference between jubilee and jubilation, an active form of the verb jubilant. If the ‘editor’ was a computer algorhythm, the data should be fed into the system.
