“Why does it always have to be more overall?”
It doesn’t, and you have some good suggestions on how to get there.
Go here and let em know.

Cruz would "deny citizenship". A completely absurd condition because so few Illegals desire it. They demand Legal Status, which is exactly what Cruz will give them. But because citizenship is something most Conservatives hold in reverence, they get suckered into thinking it's a major concession from the "migrant rights" crowd.
Bottom line with Cruz, we might get some actual border enforcement, most of the Illegals stay, and foreigners will enjoy a more open, easier immigration process.
>>If wages rise here too high, Gates, Zuckerberg, et al. will merely relocate abroad while expecting the American taxpayer to protect them.<<
No, if wage rates for certain skills rise faster than other wages, that rise will signal to young people that they should take college and/or technical courses aimed at those particular skills. The education cycle is short and within a few years there would be a modest surplus of people trained with those skills. Then the cycle would repeat.
This is what used to happen years ago in engineering. The best time to start an engineering degree was when wages were low because in the five years it took to get the degree, the low wages would have reduced the number of students going into engineering and you would graduate into a hot job market.
When the government gets involved by tweaking the number of visas available in any particular industry, all that does is mess with the natural cycle of things. It also prevents wages from rising enough to attract new entrants into the field domestically.
We should limit legal immigration, and we shouldn’t necessarily emphasize skilled labor when deciding whom to allow to immigrate. If there really are jobs for which there are no takers because of the nature of the work, those are the jobs we should seek to fill with green card holders. This is especially true of highly seasonal work where it’s often unrealistic to find good help on a strictly temporary basis.
U.$.A. for $ale to the highe$t foreign bidder$ and lowe$t bidding $lave$!
That’s not how it’s supposed to work.
My last comment was disagreement with Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz, by the way.
Rafael Cruz: his real name.
[Wisconsin is the only state to ever revoke instate tuition] !!!!
Done by Scott Walker!
We need a 10 year moratorium and all legal immigration.
After 10 years we can reevaluate our needs. Enough!
At this point in our history, anyone seeking or supporting an effort to continue this never ending conga-line of foreign nationals/immigrants into our country, should not be trusted.
I was also holding off, until the attacks against Cruz and his supporters began to run several times a day. I was attacked for supporting Cruz last week....
Now, the sooner Walker pays that price..... the better it will be for all of us.
~~Cruz OR LOSE~~
I like CRUZ CANT LOSE something more positive
Yours is fine, and I believe Cruz will win. However, if he doesn’t win, our country will have been lost and will never be reclaimed with a simple ballot.
Remember the flag, “Join or Die” .... I think yours would have read, “Join and Live”. ;>) Same goal....
Anyone capable of critical thought understands America needs to shut the doors to it's home for a while.
Jamming more people into America will not benefit or somehow give average Americans greater opportunity. Just the opposite will occur.
Imagine applying for a job and getting into a line with 50 other applicants. Now triple the size of that line.
Imagine being told to conserve water, while government waves in tens of hundreds of thousands of thirsty, water consuming people. People use all resources, water, electricity, food, more traffic, crowded lines, longer holds on the phone, jammed classrooms, strained resources, choked off medical system and on and on...
It's a chain reaction, which affects literally everything.
Do not trust those who want to keep the flood gates open. They have hidden agendas, which are neither patriotic or smart.
Just wondering how many H1B visa holders are working public sector jobs?
I don’t see it as attacks. It’s how the system works.
I like Ted Cruz.
Agreed. I can only try to imagine what it’s like in CA.
In my opinion, immigration is for family members of Americans and those who really want to be Americans—especially for those with the same culture and language. It’s not for those who only want money from America and would rather radically change our culture. Trying to assimilate them is also too expensive in many ways.
There are no H1B visas for news correspondent and lawyer jobs. Funny that.
