If that is the "report" it isn't going to help the situation one bit. Getting a "rough ride" is almost a traditional tale about paddy wagon transport in several cities. In a steel box with steel benches, handcuffs on, no restraints like seat belts, a rough ride can easily be deadly. Everyone knows about these rough rides so whether myth or true stories, saying he did it to himself is not going to wash, even among many normally police friendly citizens.

Why does my spell checker insist that "wagon" is spelled "waggon?" Is this something new in the PC dictionary?

Your spell check must be set to British English.
Try typing neighbor or color and see what it does.
