I was listening to Mark Levin one evening a few months ago - IIRC, he laid the responsibility for the tag "Hispanic" on Richard Nixon.
It is most certainly not a race.

Not to nitpick the article, but hispanic does not describe a race. It is a linguistic and broadly cultural group. Not to nitpick...but I think Cruz Senior suffered as a teenager against the dictator Batista in Cuba more than any "African American" race baiter today.
