CWII Spark Ping -- Messing with peoples kids is a good trigger, like messing with people's savings/incomes.

Interestingly enough, there's an amendment in that proposal booklet that touches on this issue:
Commerce Clause Amendment
Section I
The federal government shall directly subsidize no product or industry whatsoever, saving the promotion of the progress of Science and useful Arts.

Section II
The federal government shall never prescribe nor proscribe what the several states teach. Neither the federal government nor the several states shall ever deny the right of parents to teach and instruct their children as they see fit.

Section III
The congress may impose tariffs, excise taxes, and customs duties on anything imported or exported, provided that they are applied uniformly and in no manner restrict, subvert, or circumvent the second amendment.

Section IV
No federal law, rule, or regulation may impose prohibitions or restrictions of any sort on the commerce between the several states due to the item itself.

Just the next step in the liberal takeover of our education system. Anyone who resists is the enemy. I expect more issues like this to come up as our march toward increased fascism/communism increases.

One kink in the takeover occurred when it was reported that homeschooled children were more advanced educationally than their public school peers. Even colleges started wanting homeschooled students, as opposed to the shunning treatment that they got before this. After this, there was talk of outlawing homeschooling but that never took hold.

I think common core was the reaction to that, to try to make the claim that the old method of teaching is inferior and denigrate those using it. SAT scores should be a good indication of CC’s failure - unless the SAT tests are changed. CC also eliminates those pesky parents from being involved in their children’s education, since nobody in their right mind understands the common core methods.
