I did that the day my ten year old stood up to the school bully (my son says, "I got tired of his constant bullying, so I hit him. He didn't go down, so I hit him again. Then he went down and the teachers freaked out.") - Went to the school to be told that my son would be suspended - I responded with, "The hell he will". The kid had been bullying my son for some time, at least a couple months, and was well known to do the same to others. I told the principle my son would be at school the next day, and if he wasn't allowed to attend, there would be one helluva sh!tstorm coming down from the local media and general public. They backed off and didn't suspend my son. I took him out to get ice cream and told him how proud I was of him.
That is a GREAT story, thanks for sharing.
Good for you! Good for your son. You both stood up to bullies.
I remember when my son was in grade school and some kid had been picking on him for some time and one day bopped my son in the nose. He had told his teacher and recess monitors about the issue prior to getting his nose socked. I told my son that the next time something like that happened to knock the snot out of the kid. Then I called the teacher and told her what I told my son and that he had my full approval so they could either control the other child or there will be consequences. She was kind of shocked and said that as a Christian school she didn’t believe that was the right response. I said I didn’t care what kind of school he attended, but my son was not going to be bullied ever again without retaliating. There was never another incident.
