I knew a kid in high school who was involved in a car wreck where all the kids were underaged and unlicensed. After they wrapped around a pole, he was the only one conscious and to avoid the police, he ran home about two miles away. A day later, after learning he was also in the car, the cops showed up at his home and took him to the hospital. He had a broken neck and had to wear a halo brace for a year and a half.
