It’s not just politics. When you want to really understand something, you need to grasp the diffificult. Solving easy math problems many times doesn’t help you grasp the difficult concepts. Easy grace cannot eclipse the struggle with sin and the fear of God. So, I think that we need a Church that incorporates difficult aspects along with salvation and eternal life.
Well I would say as rejoinder, Caesar never will be the church so if you want to look at issues of Christian grace (as opposed to common grace) you don’t point to Caesar and moralize.
It was never God’s plan to be a terrorizing monster, which sometimes people who wanted Him to be a terrorizing monster to avenge them found to be quite disappointing (cf. Jonah).
