SARAJEVO, April 28 (Xinhua) -- One policeman was killed and two others were wounded in a terrorist attack on a local police station Monday evening in the city of Zvornik, 120 km away from Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnian Muslim Nerdin Ibric, 24, who committed the attack in the eastern Bosnian city in entity Republic of Srpska (RS), was also killed by police in the exchange of fire.

Both of the wounded policemen were hospitalized and their condition was stable. Chief Prosecutor of Bosnia and Herzegovina formed a special team which will cooperate with State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and Police of Republic of Srpska.

Minister of Interior Affairs of RS Dragan Lukac said, "Everything indicates that he belonged to (ultra-conservative Islamist) Wahhabi movement. We have yet to verify whether this is an isolated act or if other people are involved," adding that police in Republika Srpska have stepped up security to the highest level.

As information indicated, Ibric behaved weird in the last few months. "Our assumption is that he had been connected with salaffi community," Lukas said. He could not provide more details on results of inspection.
