Actually, Ferguson is recovering. Most of the businesses on Florissant Rd. have removed the plywood from their windows, and even the hardest-hit areas on West Florissant are recovering. The burnt out buildings are being demolished and nearly every business has re-opened. A movement has begun among the black community to acknowledge that the problem is that "We have to stop killing each other." We had a city council election resulting in a new council with a racial makeup that more accurately reflects our current demographics, but the candidates supported by the rioters, looters and their supporters lost. The winners and new councilmembers are rational, sane and have a previous record of civic-mindedness.

What kept Ferguson from falling apart (and we're still working hard to keep it together) was and is the power of prayer. Ferguson has many prayer-minded citizens who rallied to protect our city through prayer as well as action. We need to lift up Baltimore as they go through their nightmare. There are evil people behind the scenes in these riots and they can best be thwarted through the marshalled and focused power of God almighty.

A suggestion for my unknown Christian brothers-in-Christ in Baltimore: start a prayer chain among knowledgeable people in your circle who know the power of prayer. God will present you with important information at the right time and your prayers, united with the prayers and actions of people in your area, will be very powerful in helping your city recover from this vicious attack. Sadly, Ferguson was last summer, Baltimore is now, and there are other cities targeted for the near future.

How many arrests were made and are they (perps) being forced to make some sort of restitution? (Like work hours, etc.)

Also, who is funding most of the recovery? I’ve wondered who foots the bill for destructive riots.
