Don’t you think there is a difference between a private group taking care of cats, and the government spending $1500.00 to spay deer meat?

There was no lie in that post, or anything that could be construed as one, especially not “the big lie”.

I never call people feral-that implies that person was made to live outside society and has/had no choice in the matter. Humans always have choices by the time they are in their mid-teens, and they know how to reason and make value judgments.

Animals can be feral-being animals, they have no choices other than the ones made for them by humans, and they don’t make value judgements. A rogue human knows that his/her choice to be predatory and destructive could lead to their injury or demise-an animal knows no such thing-it is just doing what it has to in order to survive.

Yes, I do have more sympathy for the animal-it does not understand why it is being brutalized or killed...

She is a little weird. as she said just before being fired.

“As the firestorm grew, Lindsey wrote in the comments underneath her post: “no I did not lose my job. Lol. Psshh. Like someone would get rid of me. I’m awesome!”

One of the primary rules of hunting is to be certain of what you are shooting at, so you don’t kill things that shouldn’t be killed.

Part of the issue is that it is fine by some people if cats are tortured, maimed, and killed. They seem to be fair game for some sadistic people. Not saying you are one of them, but there are a lot of people like that, including here on FR.

Interestingly, many of those same people would howl with outrage if a jubilant vet held up a beagle with an arrow through the back of its head. (Although I have know some lifelong beagle owners who might not, given the eccentricities of that breed)

And the vet deserves to lose her job. If I run a veterinary service, one of the fundamental principles for my business has to be a respect for animal life, in the same way a hospital should have a fundamental respect for human life.

Sure, vets have to put down a lot of animals. But it is one thing to do it out of necessity, and another to be a grinning jackass holding up someone’s pet. If I run a business, this smiling idiot is going to drive away my customers and destroy my business.

I don’t think anyone has a problem with trapping and euthanizing feral animals of all kinds, but that isn’t the way to do it.

A private group can spend their money how they wish. Govt is spending all our money. They have better things to do.

sure there was sport.

I don’t “hate cats”, yet you continue to spout it as fact.

and you kept repeating after I told you of your mistake. which makes it intentional and a lie.

smoke that

You left the chicks were they could get killed?

Secure inside a metal incubator.

And that’s the cats fault?

For tearing off the heat lamp and using that hole to get into the incubator? You're damned right it's the cats' fault! Now if the cat had been smart enough to figure out how to get OUT of the incubator it might have got away with it.

I would not have a problem with people shooting wild dogs. They are dangerous.

Perhaps pet owners should take better care of their pets.

I don’t “hate cats”, yet you continue to spout it as fact.

You got things mixed up, it was you who said that I "You don’t like dogs, you arent interested in saving dogs. You hate dogs. You torture dogs" out of the blue, in a fantastical lie.

I never said that you hate cats, yet you are claiming to be quoting me saying that.

BTW an arrow to the head is a cleaner more humane death than most feral cats have. Most suffer tremendously.

I’m also not sure the factory processes used by the Humane Society, PETA or your neighborhood vet are all that humane.

I know my dogs knew what was coming when the vet said it was time.

Careful you’re dealing with a ‘last worder’ who will post to the Nth degree to get the last word.

We live about 30 miles west of Cody, Wyoming. We run bison and some sheep. I keep up to 1,000 chickens depending on the market. We depend on our income and this is not a hobby for us.

Our closest neighbor is two miles away. The cats don’t just casually end up here, they have to make a serious effort to get to this ranch across open rangeland.

We already have our own barn cats who get regular, annual trips to the vet. We neither need nor want the cats that idiots from elsewhere drop off “in the country” with the false assumption that we want their problems.

If we didn’t deal with the feral cats they’d either cause us problems or end up being feed for the predators - and I can post pictures of coyotes that have nailed some of these cats.

We also used to shoot the occasional dog that got on the ranch and chased the cattle. These days we just pick up the occasional corpse of those dogs stupid enough to mistake bison for cattle.

The real solution here is for people to keep their pets on their property and not to abandon them in the country.

You seem to be having a melt down over this thread topic, and now anger for being caught out lying.

Why all the anger over this?

Nope, always been my contention that it’s her private property and she can act accordingly. People are stupid for allowing their beloved pet cats outside without a collar and tags.

What’s the difference if she shot it and killed it with an arrow or the humane society kept it for a few days before injecting it with an overdose of anesthesia?
