“No need to carry a firearm”

Combining your non sequitur with the topic .... the Israelis generally feel a need to carry but I believe their military policy is to leave the chamber empty—so they don’t accidentally blow their own or someone else’s damned foot off.
“Israeli carry” involves drawing the firearm while racking the slide. Makes sense to me.
Unless I’m in a situation where I consciously chamber a round, my gun is safe.
Lord, save us from noobs and ‘pistoleros’.

I always carry with a round in the chamber, and my gun is safe.

I felt more comfortable getting a striker-fired pistol with a manual safety, in addition to the trigger safety and striker-block safety. I know that many here don’t like manual safeties on striker pistols, but I do, and I can flip off the safety long before I get the gun on target.

At first, until I felt I had practiced enough to gain motion memory, I carried with an empty chamber, but now I never do.

I’m not a pistoleros, and I’ll never be able to shoot as well as Raylan Givens, but I’m good enough to carry with one in the pipe.
