So ridiculously tired of racist crap such as this. Freddie was a career criminal with multiple upcoming court appearances, over 20 arrests for drug related charges in 7 years, and was in a neighborhood known for drug dealing carrying an illegal weapon. How do you spin that into police brutality?
He ran from the police…why? His own family refuses to speak police representatives who’ve made numerous attempts to communicate with them, but their mouths are wide open yapping about something none of them even witnessed the moment a camera is in their faces. His own family knows very well dear Freddie was not cutting through that area on his way home from Bible study and had the knife so he could whittle something pretty for his beloved mama.
Seriously, these protesters want to shout about change and equality, but do you see any of them applying to the police academy to balance out the race ratio within the police force? Running for public office? Communicating with officials to work on the changes they picket for when there is no crisis to rant about? No, because in their ignorance they find it easier to blame everyone but themselves for why change cannot occur. And I do feel sorrow for Freddie; based on his performance for the cell phone cameras he missed his calling as an actor. Wait, do I hear some local pastor telling us Freddie had recently found God and was turning his life around…
You forgot to add that Freddie was an aspiring rapper and was going to attend junior college in the fall.
I suspect some of how the police asked is a result of too many crooks ‘crying wolf’ while being arrested. Lie to good cops, using proper techniques, about fake injuries and fake complaints enough, and they won’t believe you when you really have something wrong. And that ‘you’ may not be you personally, but some other generic thug who has real injuries but is ignored because of others’ fake complaints. Cops inevitably get many more hours ‘training’ in the ‘hood’ than in their classrooms. Don’t blame them for what they learn there, blame their ‘teachers.’
