I have been to Nepal numerous times, and have seen a lot of historic sites, but sadly I was never there to see that one. I always saw it from the plane flying in and out of Kathmandu however.
Trekking season should be just about finished, but yes climbing season is beginning so there will be a lot of climbers on Everest. I had not seen the 18 number you referenced. Horrible if that turns out to be accurate.
