it really is an unimaginable crisis one cannot know without being in it. The terrain itself is sufficient to navigate without a quake of this magnitude and the ones following ...even the milder ones at 4. and frequency of... because they are running so shallow so the damage each time will increase their misery.
There were an estimated 300,000 tourists there when this quake hit.
