The SS raised a couple of airborne units for anti-partisan operations against Tito, maybe them. I can’t imagine going after regular airborne guys from my limited knowledge.

I don't believe that the paratrooper corps was officially designated as a criminal organization like the SS was, but in practice paratroopers received a warmer than average reception. Once the Luftwaffe lost the ability to conduct aerial operations the fallschirmjäger acted as elite infantry (often paired with the SS, Peiper has several units of fallschirmjäger under his command during the Bulge). I've read that, as their helmets resembled M1 helmet to some degree, they sometimes used the fact to their advantage in the confusion of battle.
