Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday introduced a short bill that would extend key expiring provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act, a sign this extension could happen without any substantive talk about whether and how to reform these provisions.

The bill from McConnell and Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) would extend sections of the PATRIOT Act through 2020 that allow access to business records and roving surveillance. The business records provision is found in the controversial Section 215 of the bill, which has been used to justify access to phone records.

Ditch the GOP, and find real freedom! The GOP is NO BETTER than the left. They have rendered themselves irrelevant. Pi$$ on them all.

They should call it the “Anti-Patriot” act because it will be SELECTIVELY used to spy and attack Tea Party Patriots while they let the illegals and foreign visitors on expired visas do whatever the hell their please.

Just like the IRS was used...

Why do you need survelience when people are on TV every night shouting how they are going to terrorize the neighborhood ?

Or anyone associated with him or his campaign or administration....

We need to start taking back the Power we have forfeited to the fed-gov machine.

America died with the passage of the Patriot Act. Not sure if she can be resurrected.

The Democrat in the D jersey would have been better than this Democrat in the R jersey. McConnell is the epitome of what’s wrong with the GOP.

Two Congress Creatures walk into a Bar and sit down.

The Bartender moves over to their place at the Bar and asks “good evening gentlemen, nice to see you again tonight, would you like the usual?”

One of the Congress Creatures looks at the Bartender and says “It’s been a hell of day on the hill, we’ll take the usual and leave the bottles!”

The Bartender says “two glasses, One bottle of Kentucky Bourbon and a bottle of Orange Bacardi Rum coming right up!” as he serves out the drinks and leaves the two bottles on the bar.

One Congress Creature grabs the wild turkey by the neck and is interrupted by the other Congress Creature who Protests:

“Dammit John! Stop trying to strangle me!”

It was government incompetence towards illegals and visa overstays that gave us 9-11. Average taxpaying American citizens had nothing to do with 9-11, yet this same government that failed to defend us and our borders can’t seem to buy or implement enough surveillance and theft of rights over average Americans.

Every member of Congress should wear a constant camera and microphone so that we the people that they claim to work for, can keep an eye on what they are really doing.

The GOP, as a party, ought to be running to STOP the totalitarian snooping. McConnell is sawing off what should be one of the GOP’s best planks.
