A protester, who called himself “Mike,” approached Knight, shook his hand and said, “You told me you didn’t vote amnesty and you did. I looked it up on the Internet. You lied to me.” He then patted Knight on the arm.
As the protester walked away, Knight approached him and said, “If you touch me again, I’ll drop your ass.”

The protestor used a strong arm grip and the pat on the arm was more like a hammer.
That whole show was a setup by that one protestor.

I guess I may be in the minority here but I think he had every right. The protester had no right touching him in any way.
The protester was being a punk. It was not a friendly handshake and tap on the shoulder.
It doesn’t matter what he voted. He was willing to explain himself. The protester had no right to touch him. Do we live in such a wussy society that a man can’t tell another man to back off. He’s lucky he got a warning.
So I went and checked the record. Like many of the GOP Congress, he did vote for amnesty but lie about it.
Once again - No, he didn't.
The bill bounced back and forth between the senate and house, making revisions - keeping the same bill number - but the final bill had cut out amnesty. He then voted the bill - WITHOUT THE AMNESTY,...
Sooo -until you get a computer that CAN view the whole picture - perhaps you should also keep your protestations "marginal"?

The guy is out engaging in an aggressive group trying to answer questions; not dodging them.
The other guy condescendingly comes up and does the physical contact pat on the back thing. I would have likely reacted the same way the Congressman did.

My question is: Did he vote for amnesty?
If the answer is yes, then he is NOT a “rock solid conservative”.
If the answer is no, then what was the protester talking anout?
There are endless procedural motions and strategies to deal with legislation. In the case of amnesty some people wanted to attach certain language to a funding bill, others wanted to pursue a different strategy. People who don't understand the nuances of the legislative process label you as "for the other side" when you don't embrace the strategy they want to pursue -- someone sent out an email or published on a website that he didn't vote "the right way" so these guys flew off the handle. It doesn't make him pro-amnesty.
