Two Republican congressmen who posed for a picture with an assault rifle are coming under scrutiny from the District of Columbias Attorney General Office.
Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) last week tweeted a picture of himself and Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), the leader of the House GOPs Benghazi investigation, holding an AR-15.
Buck said in the tweet that the assault rifle is his, and that the picture was taken after Gowdy stopped by his office.
Having the AR-15 in the Cannon House Office Building could be a violation of the Districts strict gun laws, and the Washington, D.C., Attorney Generals Office is looking into the matter, a spokesman told The Hill.
Buck told The Hill the rifle is inoperable and that he received approval from U.S. Capitol Police to bring it to his office, where it is on display in a locked case.
I have a very patriotic AR-15 hanging in my office. It hangs directly above my Second Amendment flag, Buck said.
While safety protocols call for all guns to be treated as if they are loaded, this one isn't. Further, a close inspection of the only public photo of the rifle will show that the bolt carrier assembly is not in the rifle; it is in fact in Colorado.
It is a beautiful, patriotic paper weight, he added.
Nice Trigger Lock
Apparently there is no real crime to prosecute in DC.....
DC answers to Congress, not the other way around.

and Monkey Man aka Dave gregory got a pass...”WTF, over”!
2 seconds, darn
That’s the most faggoty colored photo I’ve ever seen
.
But its okay if a journolist breaks the law?
If the DC police decide to make a stink about this, hopefully it will be the push needed for congress to say “OK, you guys don’t get to make gun laws any more”. But realistically, he’s ruling class, even if he is a republican, so he’ll be OK.
I know people get tired of hearing it here but in response to an article like this I always feel compelled to point out, once again, an AR-15 is not an “assault rifle.”
Gowdy looks like he mugged a vinyl siding salesman for that suit and tie.
according to too many in the LameSM its a machine gun
looks photoshopped to me

he is such a no glitz regular guy.Got to love him
this may develop into a wonderful opportunity to get rid of another unconstitutional “gun control law”
if this idiot ‘attorney general’ keeps after the Congresscritters, then...maybe.. watch for further developments!
“...the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed...”
Last guy I saw dressed like that was trying to sell me a used Buick.
