He admitted that he may have misspoke in saying he’s been pressing McCain, as he’s been pressing the Senate Armed Services Committee and that McCain is the new Chairman of that committee.
This is the first time I’ve seen a public figure say he misspoke and, when it’s explained, makes complete sense. Usually it means they fabricated something, i.e. “He admitted that he may have misspoke in saying he’s been pressing McCain, as he’s been pressing the slacks he bought in McCain’s state.”
