***maybe he built one of those high cap makeshift arrow clips***
Like those in the movie RED CLIFF II.
I remember when crossbow hunting was banned in the USA. Then some old boy over at Huntsville, Arkansas started lobbying for a short season, and got it. I can’t remember his name although he wrote some articles for BOW AND ARROW magazine.
Even then, you could not find a good crossbow on the market, just target varieties and toys.
I got my first doubled cross bow back in 1956 at a convenience store in Farmington NM. It was plastic, had two bows on it, and shot two short suction cupped arrows, over and under.
I made one in High School SHOP. (Remember shop classes?) and found they weren’t all they were made out to be.
Now the only one I have is one I picked up in Thailand back in 1969.
LOL! Do they even have “shop class” anymore? I remember having to go down to Albuquerque High on Central Ave to go to auto shop. Good times. Decent shop too.
