Shelter in place...lockdown...take evasive action...lock the door...hide. Don’t decide anything for yourself, let the collective decide.
Some of it is conditioning and training as well. When I was in school, fighting back was an option. Not a popular one with the school administration, but a bloody nose now and then showed a willingness to fight back.
