oh i am not defending calling the police on them, i just think it is negligence to leave children in a car by themselves...if they;re too young they might get into distress, of they’re too old they might interfere with the car...
you can call it whatever you want. i call it good sense. noa again i dont’ think calling the police is appropriate all but the most extreme situation, but it’s like the dad who left his infant strapped to the car seat all day whilst he was at work he ‘forgot’...the attitude that a child is on object that you can simply leave lying about is unhealthy at best...
Someone who weighs the pros and cons of waking a sleeping child up, and opts to leave the child, while a short errand is run, with another child who is awake is in no way indicative of an attitude that the child is an “object” that can be left lying around. Saying that this is like the dad who leaves a child in a car seat for a work day is bizarre. It’s like saying a mother who requires a child to drink a glass of water is like someone who practices water boarding.
That’s the proper way to handle it.
I’m a godmother, was a long-time babysitter, and a citizen.
And it’s not ok to leave toddlers in cars alone in today’s world as some of the mothers in this story did. It doesn’t take a parent to figure that out.
