God is not ruled by, phased by, or fears the current state of man, no matter how horrible, evil, sinful, or stupid it maybe.
In fact, it can be said quite definitively, that the darker it looks with respect to the state of man, the brighter and more powerful are the manifestations of his Grace!
The only thing that recommends us to God, and the sacrifice of his Son, Jesus Christ, is our sinfulness.
