James Kallstrom was Assistant Director of the FBI in New York when he was appointed to lead the FBI’s criminal investigation into the crash of TWA Flt. 800.
Initially the investigation centered on the missile theory.
About 5 days into the investigation Kallstrom was called down to Washington to consult with his superiors. He returned a couple of days later and at that point the investigation turned entirely to the exploding fuel tank theory. Any evidence to the contrary was ignored or covered up. The FBI meeting in Washington with administration (Clinton) was the turning point in the investigation.

I had always thought Kallstrom was a straight shooter but his actions on this seemed out of character. That has been one of the sticking points for me. He didn’t and doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would have followed Clinton’s directives.

I love the constitution but it might as well be used as toilet paper. I really revere the experiment America is. But the country, the military, all of it BELONGS TO US PEOPLE. Only a very few secrets should be allowed to be held by government from us, for provable (later, to us) national security.

Keeping these secrets from us is unconstitutional. There is no reason to hide a terror attack (even if it glorifies the terrorist). We deserve the truth.
