It isn’t only Catholicism. A Christian of any stripe would view attendance at a queer wedding as open defiance of God. It amounts to sanctioning and even celebrating something God says is detestable.
It is the absolute opposite of “common sense.”
Hindus or Muslims would not embrace a gay wedding either.
I don't think I have to tell you that there is no lack of "Christians" more concerned with their social standing than their orthodoxy. I have never met one who would admit to that fact. Instead, they will contrive an alternative rationale that allows them to "have their cake, and eat it too."
At least for Catholics, there is no retreat to biblical ambiguity for cover.
Spoken like one of those Catholics that ignore the Bible except for a few cherry-picked verses. Homosexuality wasn’t the only topic in the article - there was also the divorce/remarriage w/o a catholic annulment. What do all the other religions say about that? Is it enough to decide to try to hinder one’s communion with God?
