Cruz an be many things, but the Press and entertainment media will ridicule and label him as a right wing gun and Bible toting mad man, who is running against a combination of Mary the Immaculate and mother Theresa who also has the ability to walk on water. For Cruz its going to be a rough up hill battle to take the high ground. If he can squash the Press he can squash Hillary. Looking for an open debate??? Dream on, cleared questions only for Hillary. Truthfully, while I wish he could be POTUS, I think he could do a lot more, faster, and for much longer if he was appointed as a justice of the Supreme Court, replacing a liberal.
Having clear conservative dominance equates to conservatives controlling a branch of government. To a great extent, a POTUS can be neutralized by a hostile, or even indifferent congress. But a conservative SCOTUS could seriously impact a hundred years of progressivism.

A restoration of heterosexual only marriage.
Serious restrictions on abortion and an end of federal money for abortion and Planned Parenthood.
